ESIC & EPFO Services

ESIC:

Employees' State Insurance (abbreviated as ESI) is a self-financing social security and health insurance scheme for Indian workers. The fund is managed by the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) according to rules and regulations stipulated in the ESI Act 1948. ESIC is a Statutory Body and Administrative Ministry is Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India.[1]

Documents required for ESI Registration:

  • Pan Card
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Rental Agreement
  • Electricity Bill

Returns: All employers having 10 or more employees are required to be registered with Employee State Insurance (ESI) Corporation. Those entities having ESI Registration must then file ESI returns. ESI returns are due half-yearly.

EPFO:

As an employee working in a corporate set-up, there are several things one would like to know about the Employees Provident Fund (EPF). EPF is the main scheme under the Employees’ Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952. The scheme is managed under the aegis of Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). It covers every establishment in which 20 or more persons are employed and certain organizations are covered, subject to certain conditions and exemptions even if they employ less than 20 persons each.

Documents required for EPF Registration:

  • Pan card
  • Aadhaar card
  • Any Government Certificate (Ex: GST, Labour License, Company Incorporation Certificate, Firm Certificate etc.)
  • Cancellation Cheque
  • PF Specimen Signature (which has to be downloaded from the Online).
